There have been many TV shows throughout my life that had an influence on me – some more than others. The most recent and probably the most relevant was Major Crimes. For years, it had been my safe space, my go-to comfort show whenever I was feeling down. When it ended in early 2018, that was no longer the case. I tried repeatedly to reclaim the comfort it used to give me, but I never managed to make it past the first few episodes. It simply hurt too much. The original idea for this was to use my spare time before starting the new job finally do a complete re-watch, but that did not quite work out. I did, however, get started, and I decided to write down my thoughts about each episode and share them here. Some posts will be short, maybe containing funny observations or favorite scenes or quotes. Others will be longer, and some will definitely be very critical, especially as we near the later seasons. This is mainly something I do for myself, as therapy or something like that. If you feel like dropping a comment or discussing an issue I raise or adding your own thoughts or favorite parts of an episode, feel free to do so in the comments or on social media. I miss talking about this show, and if my little project leads to some people getting back into discussing it, I’m all for it.
